We specialise in servicing the Cromwell to Clyde Lake Dunstan Trail with return shuttle. Not to mention a experience you won't forget.

The 55km Lake Dunstan Trail links the townships of Cromwell and Clyde which is spectacular and offers cyclists an easy (30km's grade 1-2) from Smiths Way to Cornish Point via the Cromwell Heritage Precinct, then from Cornish Point via the Cromwell Gorge to Clyde (25km's grade 2 with parts of grade 3, with big switch-back climbs and narrow sections) for this reason we highly recommend electric bikes and that you are reasonably confident on a bike. But if you want to burn off a tasty BurgerAfloat burger & coffee, then we also have standard Mountain Bikes available.

The most popular and scenic 42km ride is to start at our shop at the Cromwell Heritage Precinct and finish at the Clyde Heritage Precinct where we can pick you up and shuttle you back to Cromwell.

The unique trail follows Lake Dunstan and passes vineyards and rugged mountains before heading into the dramatic Cromwell Gorge.

Impressive engineering has made the trail possible by bolting cantilever platforms onto sheer rock faces that are too steep to carve a pathway. There's even a coffee boat and burger boat for refreshments on the way.

Our Bike Hire Fleet includes our own custom built high spec LLEVANT Hardtail E-Mountain Bikes, featuring the powerful but intuitive Shimano E8000 E-Mountain bike system with Shimano 11 speed gears, 630wh batteries to give you plenty of range to enjoy the trail, Rockshox 120mm Travel Front Fork and Dropper Seat Posts to make your Lake Dunstan Trail ride alot more enjoyable, safer and comfortable. Included on the rear carrier is a pannier bag with a emergency kit and fold down sides for your snacks and clothing.

We also have TREK Roscoe 7 10 Speed Standard Mountain Bikes.

All bikes hired include helmets, rear carrier pannier bags with one person in each group receiving an emergency kit with spare tube, multi tool, tyre levers, quick link chain tool, new chain and first aid kit.

⭑⭑⭑⭑⭑ My boyfriend and I decided last minute (the night before) to do the Dunstan Bike Trail. Rod was incredibly friendly and even replied late at night per mail to prepare the bikes. The bikes were in perfect condition and Rod explained the trail very well. He recommended nice places on the way to make sure we have a good time (the burgers were delicious and definitely worth a stop). He picked us up from Clyde on time and drove us back to Cromwell. Highly recommend his bike rental and the beautiful trail, definitely one of my NZ highlights!



⭑⭑⭑⭑⭑ Arrived in Cromwell at 8.30am and Rod had our bikes ready to go. He gave us all of the necessary directions and recommended highlights, and off we went. The bikes were top quality and well maintained. Rod picked us up in Clyde, even before we had to call him - great service! Overall I highly recommend Rod and his bike rentals - we emailed each other a number of times before we even arrived in NZ, and he was very accommodating with some late changes we had to make due to weather conditions. Thanks Rod for a great experience!



⭑⭑⭑⭑⭑ Fantastic experience all round. Rodney was great explaining the trail to us, setting up the bikes & picking us up at the end to shuttle us back. The e-bikes were the nicest I’ve ever ridden, there was ample charge to get us the full 42km down the lake. The ride itself is beyond spectacular (a highlight of our trip) with local food stops along the way - ending in the beautiful heritage town of Clyde. Highly recommend
